Marie Doutriaux-Boucher

Climate Product Expert at EUMETSAT

Marie Doutriaux-Boucher has extensive work experience in the field of meteorology and climate science. Marie started their career in 1998 as a Postdoctoral student at CNES. From 1999 to 2001, they worked at EUMETSAT, where they were involved in the development of quality index and cloud detection schemes for Meteosat data. Marie then joined the University of Lille 1 as an Assistant professor, focusing on cloud remote sensing and the use of satellite data for model evaluation. In 2005, they joined the Met Office as a Satellite application research scientist, where they worked on projects related to height assignment errors for cloud motion winds and improving dust products. Marie later became a Climate feedback scientist, contributing to the development of the Met Office Earth-system model used for the IPCC 5th Assessment Report. In 2011, they returned to EUMETSAT as a Climate product expert and later a Meteorological Product Expert. Throughout their career, Marie has demonstrated a strong commitment to utilizing satellite data and conducting research to improve climate products and provide policy advice.

Marie Doutriaux-Boucher completed their education in the field of Atmospheric Physics. Marie earned a PhD from Pierre and Marie Curie University from 1993 to 1997. Prior to that, they obtained a Diplome d'Etude Atmospherique from Université Blaise Pascal (Clermont-II) - Clermont-Ferrand, which they attended from 1988 to 1992.
