Paola Colagrande has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Paola started their career as a researcher at the ElectroOptical Research Centre in 1993. Paola then worked as a remote sensing specialist and optical instrument expert for Vitrociset S.p.A., supporting missions such as ERS1, ERS2, and ENVISAT. From 2012 to 2014, Paola served as a project manager in R&D at Vitrociset, leading research projects funded by European and Italian institutions. Paola also managed projects for ENAV related to weather forecasting for air traffic control.
In 2014, Paola joined Telespazio VEGA Deutschland GmbH as a Sentinel-3 PDGS System Engineer. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as an EPS-SG System Engineer at CS Communication & Systèmes. In 2017, Paola started working at EUMETSAT, initially as a Sentinel-6/Jason –CS Instrument Functional Chain and System Engineer, and later as the CO2M Senior IFC and Data&Tools Coordinator.
Throughout their career, Paola has demonstrated expertise in various areas such as system engineering, project management, remote sensing, and weather forecasting.
Paola Colagrande completed their undergraduate education at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" from 1988 to 1993, where they earned a Laurea degree in Physics. Following that, in 1994 and 1995, they pursued further studies at the Italian Space Agency, obtaining a Master's degree in Science and Space Technologies in Earth Observation. In 2011, they enrolled in the Project Management Institute to gain expertise in project management and acquire a PMP certification, which they are currently pursuing.
