Viju John

Climate Product Expert at EUMETSAT

Viju John has a diverse work experience in climate research and scientific support. Viju began their career as a researcher at the University of Bremen in 2001 and worked there until 2006. Viju then moved to the University of Miami as a Research Associate from 2006 to 2007. In 2008, Viju joined the Met Office Hadley Centre as a Remote Sensing Climate Research Scientist and stayed there until 2018. During this time, they gained expertise in remote sensing and climate research. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at EUMETSAT as a Core-Climax Scientific Support, where they improved and documented the System Maturity Matrix for evaluating data record generation. In 2015, they took on the role of a FIDUCEO Scientific Expert at EUMETSAT before transitioning to a Climate Product Expert position in 2018. Viju's work experience showcases their knowledge and skills in climate research and data analysis.

Viju John completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics / Remote sensing from the University of Bremen, starting in 2001 and graduating in 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from Cochin University of Science and Technology, studying from 1998 to 2000. Their educational journey began with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics from the same institution, which they pursued from 1995 to 1998.
