Jean-Jacques Slotine is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Information Sciences, Professor of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). He received his Ph.D. from MIT in 1983, at age 23. His book, “Applied Nonlinear Control” (Prentice-Hall, 1991), is one of the most revered and cited textbooks in Control Theory. He is the 2016 recipient of the Rufus Oldenburger Medal from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
