Spiros Chiotis

Spiros Chiotis has a strong background in maritime safety and management. Spiros currently holds the position of DPA/CSO, HSEQ Manager at EUROBULK LTD, where they have been since 2020. Prior to that, they worked as HSQE/DPA, Safety/Security/MLC, Training & IT Manager at Cosmoship management for almost a decade, from 2011 to 2020. Spiros has also served as Managing Director at Smart Crewing Agency from 2007 to 2010. Spiros has extensive experience as a DPA/CSO and Crew & Safety Manager, working at various companies including L&W Shipping Agency, Eastwind Hellas SA, NT Tankers, Norbulk Hellas, and ELKO MANAGEMENT. Spiros began their career in the Hellenic Navy as a Petty Officer and served from 2000 to 2005.

Spiros Chiotis completed their MSc in Maritime Operations and Management at City, University of London from 2018 to 2020. In addition to their degree, they have obtained various certifications throughout their career. These include ECDIS from Cosmos Nautical Center in 2015, Microsoft Office Specialist from Microsoft in 2014, Shipping Companies Management from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon in 2014, Risk Assessment from Bureau Veritas Group in 2011, Company Security Officer from Bureau Veritas Group in 2008, ISM Internal Auditor from Bureau Veritas Group in 2008, Maritime Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis from American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in 2007, Company Security Officer from the Federal Highway Agency of Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation in 2006, Company Security Officer from International Business Solutions in 2006, and Auxiliary Plant Description & Damage Control from Fincantieri Marine Group in 2003.
