Luis Boechat

Luis Boechat has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Luis currently holds the position of Executive Director - Global Medical and Regulatory Affairs at Eurofarma, starting in November 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Novartis as the Chief Scientific Officer & Vice-President Scientific Affairs in Canada from June 2021 to May 2023, and previously as the Chief Scientific Officer in Brazil from September 2017 to June 2021. Before joining Novartis, they served as the Senior Medical Affairs Director at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson from July 2013 to September 2017. Earlier in their career, they held various roles at Abbott Laboratories, including Medical and Regulatory Director - Brazil from June 2010 to July 2013, Senior Medical Manager - Primary Care and Hospital Products from July 2008 to May 2010, and Medical Manager - Endocrinology from April 2007 to July 2008. Prior to joining Abbott Laboratories, they worked as the Medical Scientific Manager at TRB Chemedica Brazil from September 1998 to April 2007. Their career began with a private practice as an Endocrinologist from February 1992 to April 2007.

Luis Boechat obtained their medical degree (MD) from Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora between 1984 and 1989. Luis then pursued a residence training program in Endocrinology at Universidade Estadual de Campinas from 1990 to 1993. Continuing their education, they completed a Master's degree (MSc) in Internal Medicine with a focus on Endocrinology and Immunology from the same university between 1993 and 1995. Finally, Luis Boechat earned a PhD in Internal Medicine with a specialization in Immunology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, graduating in 2001.
