Ann de Greef

Ann De Greef is a prominent figure in animal welfare, currently serving as a Member of the Flemish Animal Welfare Council since January 2024. As the Co-Founder and Director of GAIA, the largest Belgian animal rights organization, Ann has been influential in the field since 1992. Additional roles include Director at Eurogroup for Animals and Chairwoman of the Brussels Animal Welfare Council, as well as a Substitute member and Member of various councils since their establishment in 2015, focused on improving animal welfare in the Brussels and Walloon regions. Ann is also involved with the European Commission's Working Group on the castration of piglets and has held positions with the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments and the Project Committee CEN/TC 443 Feather and Down, advocating for animal welfare standards in Europe.
