Aldo Schmitt

Aldo Schmitt currently serves as Principal of Corporate Strategy at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) since June 2021. Prior to this role, Aldo was the Head of International Development at the National Security Secretariat within the Cabinet Office from March 2020 to June 2021. Aldo's experience includes serving as an Economic Adviser for the Joint DFID/FCO Good Governance Fund and as Adviser to the Director for the United Kingdom at EBRD. Aldo also held the position of Economist in Global Economics at HM Treasury and completed the Civil Service Fast Stream as a Fast Stream Economist. Aldo began the professional journey as a Research Assistant at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Aldo holds a Master of Science in Economics and Philosophy from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Philosophy from The University of Göttingen, supplemented by an exchange at UCLA in Economics.
