Richard Jones

Director, SME Finance And Development, Southern And Eastern Mediterranean, EBRD at EBRD

Richard Jones has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Richard began their career at HM Treasury as a policy analyst from 2000 to 2003. Richard then joined EBRD, where they held various roles such as Early EBRD Career Director, Official Co-financing Unit Director, and Head of Office in Tajikistan. From 2017 to 2020, Richard served as the Interim Director of the President's Office and the AIIB-EBRD Business Development Director in Beijing. More recently, they have held positions as the Director of VP Banking - Crisis Response, Director of Climate Ambition and Strategy, and currently as the Director of SME Finance and Development for the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region at EBRD. Richard Jones has showcased their leadership skills, expertise in finance, and commitment to climate change throughout their career.

Richard Jones attended Newcastle Royal Grammar from 1984 to 1991, where they pursued A Levels. Richard then attended the University of Cambridge from 1992 to 1997, earning an MA in French and Russian. Richard later studied at the University of Oxford from 1998 to 2000, obtaining an MPhil in Russian Studies.
