European Banking Authority (EBA)
Jo Swyngedouw is a seasoned professional in the fields of banking, finance, and academia, currently serving as a Lecturer at Universiteit Antwerpen since September 2019. Swyngedouw has been a member of the College van Toezicht op de Bedrijfsrevisoren since March 2017 and holds various positions at the European Banking Authority, including Vice-Chair and Member of the Board of Supervisors since 2013. In addition, Swyngedouw has been the Interim Chairperson and Deputy Director, Head of Financial Stability, AML supervision, and Prudential Policy at the National Bank of Belgium since April 2011. Previous roles include Alternate Member of the Supervisory Board at the European Central Bank from 2014 to 2017 and Deputy Director of Prudential Policy at the Commission for Banking, Finance, and Insurance from 2003 to 2011. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Law from KU Leuven.
