Anna Machowska, PhD, currently serves as Principal Expert in Public Health Training and Scientific Officer for Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-associated Infections at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) since October 2021, where responsibilities include managing large multidisciplinary projects related to antimicrobial use and One Health. As an Associate Professor in Global Health at Karolinska Institutet since November 2012, Anna Machowska has engaged in research on antimicrobial resistance, supervised PhD students, and directed health systems and policy courses. Previous roles include Data Science Associate/Associate Director at Parexel, where strategic data solutions for scientific projects were designed, and Development Scientist at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, contributing to research on peritoneal dialysis. Educational credentials include a PhD in Medical Science from Karolinska Institutet and an MSc in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Wroclaw, supplemented by a master's programme in Molecular Biology from the University of Groningen.
