Erik Alm

Erik Alm serves as a Principal Expert in Applied Molecular Epidemiology at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) since February 2018, having also held the role of Senior Expert in the same field. Erik has been a Technical Auditor at SWEDAC since January 2017 and operates an independent consultancy, Erik Alm konsult, specializing as an algorithm developer since January 2012. Prior experience includes leadership of the Genomics platform and roles as a Bioinformatician at Folkhälsomyndigheten from June 2012 to February 2018. Academic foundations include a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Stockholm University, supplemented by a position as a PhD candidate at the same institution from 2007 to 2012, and research roles at Mantex AB and Linköping University.
