Ole Heuer

Ole Heuer has an extensive work experience in the field of disease prevention and surveillance. Ole started their career as a Research Scientist at the Danish Institute for Food and Veterinary Research in 1997. Later, they joined the Danish Zoonosis Centre, National Food Institute as a Research Scientist from 2002 to 2007. In 2007, they joined DTU - Technical University of Denmark as a Senior Scientist. From 2008 onwards, they worked at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in various roles, including Senior Expert, Group Leader Surveillance, Head of Section One Health Related Diseases, and currently as the Head of Section Epidemic Prone Diseases.

Ole Heuer completed their education in a chronological order. Ole started their studies in 1988 at The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen, Denmark, where they pursued a degree in Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1996. Following this, they attended the University of Copenhagen, also known as Københavns Universitet, from 1998 to 2002. During this period, they obtained a PhD degree in Epidemiology/Microbiology. Lastly, they attended Copenhagen Business School from 2002 to 2004 to study Research and Development Management, although no specific degree is mentioned for this period.
