Head Of Section Procurement at ECDC

Peter Carlberg has over 15 years of experience in procurement and legal roles. Peter currently serves as the Head of Section Procurement at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), where they have been since 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Legal and Procurement (a.i) at the same organization from 2021 to 2022.

Before joining the ECDC, Peter worked as a Specialist within the Procurement Department at Europol from 2014 to 2019. From 2010 to 2014, they served as a Procurement Officer at Eurojust. Peter began their career at the Swedish Competition Authority in 2007, where they held the role of Senior Legal Adviser in the Public Procurement Department until 2010.

In 2005, Peter worked as a Procurement Consultant at VHS Procurement, assisting Swedish governmental authorities in their procurement needs. During their time there, they also contributed to the creation of a procurement training series offered to Swedish authorities.

Peter's career started as an Ombudsperson for Children at Save the Children Finland in 2003.

Overall, Peter Carlberg has extensive experience in procurement and legal roles, making him well-equipped for their current position at the ECDC.

Peter Carlberg attended Lund University from 1997 to 2004, where they obtained a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Competition Law. Peter also studied at Université Côte d'Azur from 2002 to 2003, focusing on International Law and Legal Studies. Prior to their university education, Peter completed their upper secondary schooling at Katedralskolan in Linköping from 1993 to 1996, specializing in the Samhällsvetenskaplig linje (Social Sciences). Before that, they attended Ekholmsskolan in Linköping from 1989 to 1992.
