Veronica Cristea currently serves as a Scientific Officer for Tuberculosis at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control since June 2022. Prior to this role, Veronica Cristea worked as a Consultant Epidemiologist at the World Health Organization from September 2021 to May 2022, and previously as a Medical Epidemiologist at Spitalul Clinic Judetean de Urgenta Brasov from September 2020 to June 2021. Veronica Cristea was an EPIET Fellow at the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) from September 2018 to September 2020, with a brief deployment to support the Ebola outbreak response at WHO in December 2019 to January 2020. Early in the career, Veronica Cristea served as a Resident Doctor in epidemiology at Spitalul Clinic Judetean de Urgenta Brasov from June 2016 to August 2018, contributing to public health surveillance and outbreak management. Veronica Cristea holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in General Medicine from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, obtained between 2009 and 2015.
