George Athanasiou

George Athanasiou is an accomplished professional in the fields of research and innovation, currently serving as the Head of Research and Innovation at DBC diadikasia since September 2017. Athanasiou's expertise extends to roles as an Expert Reviewer and Evaluator for the European Commission and EUREKA Network, where responsibilities include monitoring and assessing research projects within Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe frameworks. With prior experience as a Senior Project Manager at NTUA and CTO and co-founder of Aukoti AB, Athanasiou has a strong background in ICT-driven projects and sensor networking. Educational qualifications include a Postdoctoral degree from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Thessaly.
