Miles Perry is an experienced policy officer specializing in climate change and energy, currently serving at the European Commission as a Policy Officer focused on the European Emissions Trading System since March 2024. Prior to this role, Miles contributed as an Administrator at the European Environment Agency, providing secretariat support to the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change from August 2022 to March 2024, and was instrumental in developing advice on the EU climate target for 2040. Previous positions within the European Commission included roles as an Economist in climate change and energy, where Miles produced economic damage estimates from climate change and supported policy development. Additional experience includes work at Ofgem regulating wholesale electricity markets, economic analysis at Defra, and research on bioenergy trade while completing a PhD in Energy Policy at Imperial College London. Educational qualifications also include a MA in Environmental Economics and a CFA Level I certification.
