Paolo De Rosa has extensive work experience in the field of technology and digital transformation. Paolo is currently working as a Policy Officer - CTO for the EUDI Wallet at the European Commission, starting in 2022. Prior to this, Paolo worked as a Senior Consultant at the European Commission from December 2022 to June 2023.
Before joining the European Commission, Paolo served as the Chief Technology Officer at the Italian Government's Department of digital transformation at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, starting in December 2019 and ending in December 2022. During this time, they led multidisciplinary teams in developing digital platforms and providing insights and advice to policy-makers on new digital technologies. Paolo worked on various projects such as Immuni, an open-source digital contact tracing app, the EU Digital Covid Certificate (Green Pass), the Italian cloud strategy, and the National Strategic Hub.
Prior to their role in the Italian Government, Paolo worked as the Chief Technology Officer at the Team per la Trasformazione Digitale - Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri from August 2019 to December 2019. Paolo also served as a Cloud and Data Center strategy expert in the same organization from October 2017 to September 2019.
Paolo has also gained experience in the private sector, working as a Product Owner at Deutsche Telekom Pan-Net from August 2018 to September 2019. Additionally, they have worked at Canonical Ltd. as a Field Engineer, Technical Lead from January 2017 to October 2017, and as a Dedicated System Engineer from May 2015 to April 2017.
Other notable positions in Paolo's career include being a System and Network Administrator at the University of Pisa from April 2004 to May 2015, a co-founder member at DustLab from 2011 to 2012, a computing professional for the European Union from January 2006 to September 2007, and a Computer systems designer at WiTech from January 2005 to May 2005.

Paolo De Rosa attended the Liceo Scientifico Tecnologico from 1996 to 2001, earning a Diploma in Information Technology. Paolo then pursued their higher education at the Università di Pisa from 2001 to 2008, focusing on Telecommunications. In terms of additional certifications, Paolo is currently enrolled in the Foundations of Project Management course offered by Coursera, with an expected completion date in 2023.
