European Environment Agency
Frank Wugt Larsen is an expert in biodiversity knowledge and networks, currently working at the European Environment Agency since May 2020. In this role, responsibilities include supporting the strategic implementation of the Biodiversity and Ecosystems domain and shaping the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, as well as leading international biodiversity efforts related to the UN CBD and IPBES. Previously, Larsen held positions at the European Environment Agency focusing on biodiversity assessments from 2012 to 2019, and worked as a conservation scientist at Conservation International from 2008 to 2012. Additional experience includes a project officer role at The Nature Agency, a project consultant position at the University of Copenhagen, and consulting for Bjerregaard Consulting. Larsen holds a PhD and MSc in Conservation Biology from the University of Copenhagen, completed in 2006 and 2001, respectively.

We are a major information source for those involved in developing, adopting, implementing and evaluating environmental policy, and also the general public. Currently, the EEA has 33 member countries. Mission statement: "The EEA aims to support sustainable development and to help achieve significant and measurable improvement in Europe's environment, through the provision of timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policy-making agents and the public."
