Stepan Svoboda

Stepan Svoboda is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in European law and procurement. Currently serving as the Head of Procurement Sector at the European Health and Digital Executive Agency since October 2022, Stepan previously held the position of Attorney at Law at the European Commission from October 2011 to October 2022, focusing on State Aid procedures at DG Agriculture and Rural Development and investigating cartel agreements at the Cartel Unit in DG Competition. Prior to this, Stepan was a Senior Attorney at CMS, overseeing competition and life sciences practices, and worked as an Attorney at Law at bpv BRAUN PARTNERS. Stepan's educational background includes a PhD in European law and various advanced degrees in European and Czech law, European law and economics, and German and European law from prominent universities such as Charles University and the University of Limerick.
