Monica Scatasta

Monica Scatasta currently serves as the Head of Division at the European Investment Bank, a position held since March 2023. Previously, Monica held the title of Director at the Council of Europe Development Bank from March 2020 to March 2023, overseeing a team of experts focused on inclusive growth, support for vulnerable groups, and environmental sustainability. Monica’s extensive experience at the European Investment Bank includes roles as Head of Environmental, Climate and Social Policy and Head of Division for Water and Waste Management, providing crucial policy advisory services and project financing globally. Additional roles include Water Programme Coordinator at the OECD and various positions at The World Bank and other organizations, focusing on water resources management and environmental economics. Monica holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and Environmental Economics from The Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. in Economics and Environmental Policy from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
