European Parliament
Elina Viilup has extensive experience in European Union affairs, particularly in human rights and trade policy. Currently serving as Advisor to the Director-General and Policy Advisor within the European Parliament, Viilup focuses on human rights in the context of Eastern Neighbourhood countries and corporate accountability. Previous roles include Desk Officer for Enlargement and the European Economic Area, and Councillor at the Permanent Representation of Estonia to the EU, where Viilup chaired pivotal working parties during Estonia's Presidency of the Council of the EU. A background in research as a Fellow at FUNDACION CIDOB and various positions within the European Parliament further solidifies expertise in EU external policies, foreign relations, and trade issues. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree from the University of Basel and a degree from the University of Tartu.
