Jean-François Riffaud

Jean-François Riffaud has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Jean-François began their career in 1997 at Radio France Internationale as a Chargé de Mission/Directeur Général. Jean-François then moved on to work at the Etablissement Français du Sang, where they held various positions, including Director of International Affairs & Communications and Chief of Staff. During their time there, they focused on communication strategies, press relations, crisis management, and international affairs.

In 2005, Riffaud joined Croix-Rouge française as Director of Communications & Fundraising and Spokesperson. Jean-François was responsible for developing and implementing communication and resources mobilization strategies, including fundraising efforts. Additionally, they served as the official spokesperson for the organization and carried out field missions.

Riffaud's other notable work experiences include roles at UNESCO and Sciences Po. At UNESCO, they served as the Coordinator for the "Media and Humanitarians in Times of Crisis" project, managing global campaigns and workshops related to epidemics and crises. At Sciences Po, they worked as an Enseignant (teacher) from 2015 to 2018.

Jean-François also holds positions as Administrateur at IDAF and France générosités, where they are responsible for administrative duties.

Currently, Riffaud is the Chief Executive Officer of the European Society of Cardiology, a role they assumed in 2023. In this capacity, they oversee the organization's overall operations and strategic direction.

Jean-François Riffaud completed a Master's degree in International Law from ILERI from 1987 to 1991. Jean-François then pursued a post-graduate program focused on Economics and International Law at Université Paris Cité from 1991 to 1993.
