Johan Vijgen

Johan Vijgen is an accomplished medical professional specializing in electrophysiology with extensive experience in leadership roles within various organizations. Since 2006, Johan has served in multiple positions at BeHRA, including President, Vice President, and Treasurer. As a Fellow of both EHRA and the Heart Rhythm Society, Johan has contributed significantly to cardiovascular health, currently chairing the Expert Group on Cardiovascular Disease for the European Union since 2010. Previous appointments include Chief Division of Electrophysiology at Jessa ziekenhuis and roles at UZ Leuven and the University Hospitals of Cleveland focusing on cardiology and electrophysiology.
