Kim Smeets

Kim Smeets is an experienced professional in event management and strategic planning, currently serving as Congress Manager at the European Society of Cardiology since May 2014. In this role, Kim leads the strategy and delivery for major congresses, overseeing a budget of over €4 million and coordinating a team of more than 100 staff members. Kim also has a background as a Scientific Programmes Officer, managing scientific content for high-profile events. Prior experience includes serving as Project Manager Events at Mathez Group, where Kim led MICE projects, and as Sales representative for group bookings at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Kim holds a Master of Business Administration in Tourism & Hotel Management from Paris School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Product Management from Breda University of Applied Sciences.
