Jens Bischof (54) began his career in the Lufthansa Group in 1990 with Lufthansa Cargo. Since then he has held several senior leadership positions. From 2006 to 2011, among other functions, he was headquartered in New York, where he served as Vice President The Americas for Lufthansa German Airlines, responsible for all commercial activities in North and Latin America. He then returned to Frankfurt, Germany joining the Executive Board of Lufthansa German Airlines and served as CCO, responsible for Lufthansa’s worldwide Sales organisation, Marketing, Pricing, worldwide Ground Operations and Product Management, as well as Europe’s largest loyalty program, Miles & More. In addition, he was in charge of the commercial steering of Lufthansa’s largest hub, Frankfurt. In the past three years as CEO of SunExpress, Jens Bischof has successfully realigned the company, significantly expanded it and successfully positioned it economically.

Eurowings has a current fleet of 205 aircraft and specializes in low-cost direct flights within Europe. The German airline currently offers more than 210 destinations in over 60 countries around the world, making it the third-largest European point-to-point carrier. Last year for the first time, the airline flew more than 40 million passengers and its workforce grew to around 10,000 employees. The low-cost airline has 14 locations in Germany as well as in other European countries, and is the market leader at six airports.
