Evanston Art Center
Mollie Morris, ATR-BC, LCPC, is a seasoned art therapist with extensive experience in diverse settings. Currently serving as an Art Therapist at Glenkirk since April 2009, Mollie leads individual and group art therapy for adults with developmental disabilities and oversees a fine arts studio. As a Ceramics Instructor at the Evanston Art Center since September 2006, Mollie facilitates engaging ceramics classes and supports studio operations. Additionally, as Adjunct Faculty at Mount Saint Mary College from August 2008 to May 2010, Mollie guided students in applying art therapy theory in practice. Previously, as Director of Art Therapy at the Institute for Therapy through the Arts, Mollie provided therapy for clients with various disorders, developed assessment tools, and managed clinical documentation. Mollie holds a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Evanston Art Center
Founded in 1929, the Evanston Art Center has become one of the largest community art centers in Illinois and a leading provider of quality arts education and community outreach. Created through the efforts of 20 civic organizations, from 1929 to 1943 the Art Center was housed in the basement of the old Evanston Library. In 1942, the Art Center was incorporated as a nonprofit. Since 1966, the Art Center has lived and grown in in the Harley Clarke House on the shores of Lake Michigan. In May 2015, the Evanston Art Center is officially moving to its new home at 1717 Central Street. The new location allows the Art Center to expand beyond the visual arts and additionally offer programming in culinary and language arts, design, digital fabrication, film, movement, music, performance and more. At its new home, the Evanston Art Center will serve more people in more ways, offering a variety of services to a diverse community.
