Evanston Art Center
Nolan Baumgartner is an experienced educator and artist specializing in ceramics, currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at both the College of Lake County and Saint Xavier University since 2017 and 2018, respectively. Additionally, Nolan holds the position of Studio Coordinator at the Evanston Art Center, where responsibilities include managing kiln operations, studio equipment, and volunteer assistants. Nolan has previously held artist residency roles at Lillstreet Art Center and Armory Art Center, as well as serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah for nearly a decade. Educational qualifications include a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramic Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramic Arts from the University of Utah. Prior professional experience includes work as a Dental Lab Technician at Baumgartner Dental Lab from 1996 until 2010.

Evanston Art Center
Founded in 1929, the Evanston Art Center has become one of the largest community art centers in Illinois and a leading provider of quality arts education and community outreach. Created through the efforts of 20 civic organizations, from 1929 to 1943 the Art Center was housed in the basement of the old Evanston Library. In 1942, the Art Center was incorporated as a nonprofit. Since 1966, the Art Center has lived and grown in in the Harley Clarke House on the shores of Lake Michigan. In May 2015, the Evanston Art Center is officially moving to its new home at 1717 Central Street. The new location allows the Art Center to expand beyond the visual arts and additionally offer programming in culinary and language arts, design, digital fabrication, film, movement, music, performance and more. At its new home, the Evanston Art Center will serve more people in more ways, offering a variety of services to a diverse community.
