Begüm Kepez

Begüm Kepez has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Begüm is currently employed at EVBox as a Senior Information Security Officer, starting in 2023. Prior to this role, they held the position of Information Security Officer at the same company, starting in 2022.

Before joining EVBox, Begüm worked at ING Türkiye, where they served as an Information Risk Management Assistant VP from 2021 to 2022. During this time, they monitored and reported non-financial risks across the bank, provided risk advice, and supported business lines in identifying and assessing risks. Begüm previously held the role of Information Risk Management Specialist at the same company from 2019 to 2021.

Begüm also has experience at PwC Turkey, where they worked as a Risk Assurance Services Senior Consultant from 2019 to 2019 and as a Risk Assurance Services Consultant from 2016 to 2019. In these roles, they planned and executed risk control projects for top firms, led consulting teams, and gained expertise in IT risk and financial processing risks.

Earlier in their career, Begüm was a Market and Business Development intern at Borusan Mannesmann in 2015 and an intern in Software Engineering at Netas in 2014. Begüm also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Koç University in 2015 and as a Resident Assistant at the same university from 2012 to 2013.

Begüm Kepez completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering and Industrial Engineering from Koç University, from 2010 to 2016. Begüm also obtained additional certifications during this time, including "BS ISO / IEC 27001:2013" from BSI in April 2017 and "Profesyonel İletişim Becerileri" from PwC Turkey in April 2016.

After a break, Begüm pursued a Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Istanbul Bilgi University, which they are expected to complete from 2019 to 2022.

In June 2023, they obtained the "ISO 27001 Lead Implementer" certification from PECB.
