Amrita Bhattacharjee

Amrita Bhattacharjee has a strong background in scientific research, with experience in both academia and industry. Amrita is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Evelo Biosciences since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Pittsburgh from September 2016 to October 2022. During their time at the university, they held roles as a Staff Research Scientist and a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Their postdoctoral work involved studying the role of diet and infection on immune disruptions, particularly focusing on microbiota-driven Tregs and their impact on oral vaccine failure. Amrita also worked on projects related to gut immune disorders such as colitis, colon cancer, and toxoplasma infection. Amrita Bhattacharjee's academic journey began at Bose Institute, where they were a PhD Scholar from February 2011 to September 2016. Their doctoral work focused on studying macrophage Prostaglandin E2 signaling during Visceral Leishmaniasis, and they also contributed to research on combination drug therapy, DC-based vaccines, and TH17/Treg biology.

Amrita then proceeded to Bose Institute, where they dedicated their studies to Microbiology and Immunology, ultimately earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree between 2011 and 2016. Amrita continued their academic pursuits as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Pittsburgh from 2016 to 2021, focusing on Microbiology and Immunology.
