Jose Carlos Tey

Jose Carlos Tey, MSc., CIP, CRM, is a seasoned professional in the insurance industry with extensive experience in underwriting. Currently serving as Sr. Underwriter for Specialty Commercial at Everest Insurance Company of Canada since June 2016, Tey has held various senior underwriting positions at notable companies, including AIG Canada, Aviva Canada, and The Economical Insurance Group. Tey began a career in underwriting in 1987 at Seguros Internacionales de Cuba and has developed expertise in areas such as commercial property and casualty underwriting and reinsurance. Tey holds a Master of Engineering in Marine Transportation and Naval Science from the Naval Academy, as well as designations in Risk Management and Chartered Insurance Professional from the University of Toronto and the Insurance Institute of Canada, respectively.
