Vanessa McVay

Vanessa McVay is an experienced educator and journalist with a focus on multimedia and visual communication. Currently serving as Associate Faculty in Journalism at Everett Community College since November 2013 and as Adjunct Faculty in Journalism and Communications at Shoreline Community College since January 2019, Vanessa teaches courses in Intro to Mass Media and Intro to Multimedia. Previous roles include Visuals Editor at The Daily Herald, freelance designer and editor in Lubbock, TX, and various positions at The News&Observer and The Wenatchee World, where responsibilities included designing and editing news pages. Vanessa holds a Master's degree in Visual Communication and Multimedia from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in Journalism from the University of Oregon.
