John Z. Shen

John Z. Shen is a skilled software engineer with extensive experience in full stack development. Currently working at Everlane since April 2018, John specializes in various technologies including mySQL, Python, JavaScript, Backbone, React, Flux, Redux, and AWS services such as EC2, S3, and SQS. Prior to Everlane, John worked at Minted from October 2014 to September 2016, where notable projects included the Framed Keepsakes feature that streamlined the post-checkout process for customers. Earlier experience includes serving as a Health Extension Volunteer with the Peace Corps from July 2011 to August 2013, during which John designed a low-cost solar dryer, established a profitable business selling dried banana products, and educated local communities on vital public health initiatives. John holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis and completed further training at App Academy in 2014.
