Rene Smilek

Rene Smilek has a strong background in resort and lodging operations. They are currently the Director of Resort Operations at Evermore Orlando Resort, where they have been since June 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Lodging Operations at Evermore Orlando Resort from May 2021 to August 2022.

Before joining Evermore Orlando Resort, Rene worked at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin for a significant period of time. From November 2017 to May 2021, they served as the Director of Operational Excellence. Prior to that, they held the role of Director of Rooms from October 2003 to July 2010. In this position, they managed a large staff and oversaw the operations of a hotel with over 2,250 rooms. They were also responsible for HR tasks, budget management, and conducting performance reviews.

Rene's earlier experience at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin includes the roles of Director of Six Sigma from 1999 to 2003, where they implemented process-driven methodologies and trained staff on Six Sigma, and Director of Reception from February 1999 to September 2002. In the role of Director of Reception, they led a customer service team, monitored staff performance, and managed a hotel room renovation project.
