Sheena Shirakhon has been working in the education field since 2008. Sheena started as an 8th Grade English Teacher in the NYC Department of Education as a Teach For America Corps Member. In 2010, they moved to KIPP NYC as an 8th Grade Literature and Composition Teacher. In 2011, they joined Rocketship Education as a 4th Grade Teacher. In 2012, they were a Founding Kindergarten Literacy Teacher at Rocketship Education. In 2013, they were a Coordinadora de Tutores at Teach for Mexico (Enseña por México). In 2014, they returned to Rocketship Education as an Assistant Principal and Teacher on Special Assignment. In 2016, they became a Principal of Upper Elementary and Director of Instruction at Vincent Academy. In 2018, they joined Caliber Public Schools: Education Reimagined as an Assistant Principal. Sheena is currently working as a Program Manager at EveryDay Labs since 2021.
Sheena Shirakhon received their Bachelor of Arts in Middle/Near Eastern and Semitic Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from Columbia University in 2008. Sheena then went on to receive their Master's degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from The City University of New York in 2011.
