Rachel Leon has extensive work experience in the field of research and development. Rachel is currently the Director of Business Development at Evia Bio, a role they have held since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Operations Manager at Evia Bio from January 2021 to October 2022.

Rachel also has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota, where they worked on cryopreservation of multicellular systems for regenerative medicine applications from November 2018 to June 2021. Rachel utilized bioprinting, naturally occurring deep eutectic systems (NADES), and confocal microscopy in their research.

Before their time at the University of Minnesota, Rachel worked at Oregon State University in various roles. Rachel was a Research Assistant from December 2016 to June 2018, conducting research on spinal disc replacement using hydrogel combinations. Rachel also served as a Mobile Science and Engineering Camp Facilitator from June 2016 to August 2017, organizing and leading educational camps. Additionally, Rachel was a Research Intern at Oregon State University from June 2015 to September 2015, focusing on rheological and mechanical characterization of synthesized spinal discs using an AR2000ex rheometer and an Instron.

Rachel Leon completed their education at the University of Minnesota, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended Oregon State University from 2014 to 2018, earning an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering. In addition to their academic qualifications, Rachel also obtained a certification in BioCor Preservation of Cellular Therapies from the University of Minnesota in June 2021.
