Tyrel Haveman has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Tyrel began their career in 2004 at Micro Focus, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer. During their time there, they were involved in the design, implementation, and maintenance of various enterprise software products. Tyrel worked in both large and small teams, utilizing agile and SCRUM development processes. Additionally, they gained experience in secure development lifecycle and collaborated on multiple microservices for cross-team projects. In 2019, Haveman transitioned to Pluralsight, where they held the role of Senior Software Engineer. Tyrel worked remotely on agile development teams, focusing on developer productivity tools and emphasizing code and product quality through standards and automated testing. In their most recent position at Eviation Aircraft since 2021, Haveman served as the Lead Software Engineer. Tyrel worked closely with stakeholders to define requirements and design for software supporting the development of the world's first all-electric regional aircraft. Haveman also led a small team of software engineers in developing various software related to the prototype electric aircraft.
Tyrel Haveman started their education at Meridian High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma between 1996 and 2001. After completing high school, they pursued an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science at Whatcom Community College from 2001 to 2003. Following this, they furthered their studies with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Western Washington University, which they completed from 2003 to 2006.
