Derek Lord has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Derek started their career as a Tutor at Algonquin College, where they effectively communicated complex business concepts to peers. At State Farm, Derek worked as an Office Representative, training new staff and achieving impressive sales results by promoting insurance. Derek then moved on to CUTCO Cutlery as a Salesman, where they successfully sold high-quality knives and utensils and generated new sales leads.

In 2012 and 2013, Derek worked as a Technical IT Assistant at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, programming macros, developing online reports, and managing databases. Derek then transitioned to the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services as a Canadian Police Information Centre Operator, analyzing and re-engineering business processes and ensuring data integrity.
