Naomi Morisawa De Koven

Naomi Morisawa De Koven has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several years. Naomi started their career as a Business Lawyer at McCarthy Tetrault and later moved to LaBarge Weinstein as a Lawyer. In 1995, they established their own law firm called MDK Business Law Professional Corporation, where they served as the Managing Lawyer for more than 20 years, providing business and securities law services to small and medium-sized businesses.

In addition to their legal career, Naomi has held various leadership positions in different organizations. Naomi served as a Director at EORLA - Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association starting in 2020. Naomi was the Board Chair of Mindtrust Leadership from 2016 onwards. Naomi also became a Charter Member of TEC Canada in 2014.

Furthermore, they actively contributed to the community by serving on boards and committees. Naomi was a Member of the Board of Directors for United Way/Centraide Ottawa from June 2014 to September 2018. Naomi also held the position of Chair - Community Impact Cabinet for United Way/Centraide Ottawa from November 2013 to April 2018. Moreover, Naomi served as the Vice-Chair & Governance Committee Chair for Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation from July 2012 to June 2018.

Naomi's commitment to community involvement extends beyond their professional positions. Naomi served as the Past Chairman of the Board of Directors for Volunteer Ottawa from 2005 to May 2013.

Recently, starting in 2022, Naomi has taken on the role of General Counsel (Virtual) at DistillerSR.

Naomi Morisawa De Koven completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Toronto from 1990 to 1993. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in East Asian Studies from McGill University between 1985 and 1990.
