Ashraf Elwakeil has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Ashraf began their career in 1988 at the R&D Software Centre for Aviation, where they worked as a Research and Development Computer Engineer. During their time there, they gained knowledge of the full software lifecycle and worked on various projects, including embedded programming, image recognition systems, and data acquisition systems.
After leaving the R&D Software Centre for Aviation in 2007, Ashraf joined AVIT - Aviation Information Technology as a Research and Development Engineer. In this role, they developed the R&D department and worked on projects such as an Automated Passenger Counting System and a technology assessment study on LED display/screens.
In 2008, Ashraf joined BIG TEX Productions as a Software Engineer before moving on to Sonex Group in 2009. At Sonex Group, they served as an Embedded Hardware and Software Engineer Leader/Team member and was responsible for developing shooting range electromechanical equipment and microcontrollers control units.
From 2011 to 2016, Ashraf worked at Ashwoods Energy as an Embedded Systems Engineer. Ashraf then joined Hypermotive Ltd in 2016 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they delivered firmware/software for Battery Management Systems and High-power Chargers for electric and hybrid vehicles.
In 2020, Ashraf joined both Intelligent Energy and Edge Mobility. At Intelligent Energy, they served as a Principal Software & Controls Engineer, developing embedded software for hydrogen fuel cells. At Edge Mobility, they worked as a Powertrain Software & Controls Engineer.
Currently, Ashraf is employed at Evolito Ltd as a Software Engineer, a position they have held since 2023.
Ashraf Elwakeil obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Military College, from 1983 to 1988. Ashraf then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in Neural Networks and Digital Image Processing, at the Faculty of Engineering Military College from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Visio 2019 Essential Training from LinkedIn in May 2020.
