Thorsten Groetker

Thorsten Groetker has held a variety of roles in the technology and business fields since 1989. Thorsten started as a Student Assistant at RWTH Aachen in 1989 and then moved to an Assistant Researcher role at ISS, RWTH Aachen in 1992. In 1997, they joined Synopsys Inc as a Principal Engineer and held various roles up to Senior Manager R&D and Director of Engineering. In 2013, they became self-employed as a Business and Technology Consultant and took a break to "smell the roses" in 2019. In 2014, they joined Utimaco as Chief Technology Officer and CTO and Head of R&D. In 2020, they began working as a Business and Technology Consultant for bizteccon.com, providing services related to Technical and Business Analysis in the context of Mergers and Acquisitions, Product Design and Go-to-Market Strategies, and Technical Marketing Material. In 2021, they started working as a Solutions Architect for both evolutionQ and Yubico.

Thorsten Groetker completed their military service in the German Army from 1985 to 1986. Thorsten then attended St. Wolfhelm Gymnasium Waldniel from 1977 to 1983, earning their Abitur in 1983. Thorsten went on to study Electrical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University from 1986 to 1992, receiving their Diploma in 1992. Thorsten continued their studies at RWTH Aachen University, earning their Doctorate (summa cum laude) in 1998.
