Theresa Kotanchek

Dr. Theresa Kotanchek is the Chief Executive Officer and owner of Evolved Analytics LLC, a data science and predictive analytics software and solutions provider.

Prior to assuming her current role, Dr. Kotanchek spent 23 years in executive and leadership positions at The Dow Chemical Company, including Vice President for Sustainable Technologies, Innovation Sourcing and Information Research (2010-2013), Chief Technology Officer of Dow Chemical China Company Limited (2006-2010), Global Business Director of Dow Ventures (2003-2005), Global R&D Director of Dow Plastics (2000-2003), and Corporate Director of Materials Science and Engineering (1998-2000).

Dr. Kotanchek holds a PhD in Materials Science, a Master of Science in Ceramic Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Science & Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. She has published over 100 technical articles, holds 6 US patents, and has given over 200 invited talks.

In 2011-2012, Dr. Kotanchek served as the industrial led and working group co-chair of President Obama’s Advanced Manufacturing Partnership, which resulted in the launch and creation of a national network of 14 Manufacturing Institutes. Since then she served on the US National Academy of Engineers “Making Value for America” committee and chaired the NAE Steering Committee on Preparing the Engineering and Technical Workforce for Adaptability and Resilience to Change. She is currently the Vice Chair of the National Academy of Engineers National Materials and Manufacturing Board and serves on numerous university boards, including Georgia Tech’s Manufacturing Institute and Materials Institute. She is an active member of the Materials Research Society, American Chemical Society, Council of Industrial Research, and Society of Women Engineers.
