Georg Dürr

Georg Dürr has extensive experience in energy management and sustainability, currently serving as the Head of Energy Optimization & Transition at Evonik from January 2021 to December 2024, where responsibilities include leading a global team focused on energy cost savings, carbon emissions reduction, and the transition to green heat. Previously, Georg Dürr was the Head of Efficiency & Innovation, overseeing energy consulting, sustainability strategy development, innovation partnerships, and technology scouting. Additionally, Georg Dürr held the position of Acting Strategy & Organisation Manager, providing interim support for strategic management processes and organizational issues. Early career experience includes a role as a Working Student at IABG, conducting modal tests of aerospace structures. Georg Dürr holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Technical University of Munich and completed the Emerging Leaders Program at IMD Business School.
