Thomas Sauer

Vice President, Strategic Projects at Evonik

Thomas Sauer has a diverse and extensive work experience. Thomas started their career at IBM Almaden Research Center as a Research Fellow in 1989. Thomas then worked at Hüls AG, where they held the roles of R&D Manager and Head of Application Development Latex Foam. In 1996, they joined PolymerLatex as the Director of Marketing & Sales. Thomas later moved to Degussa-Hüls, where they served as the Strategic Controlling / Head of Strategic Projects. In 2002, Thomas became the Managing Director & Vice President Reagents at Proligo. Thomas then joined Evonik in 2005, where they held various positions, including Senior Project Director, Business Coach, Vice President Custom Manufacturing, Mitglied des Aufsichtrats der Evonik Industries AG, and Vorsitzender Konzernsprecherausschuss. Currently, they work at Evonik as the Vice President, Strategic Projects.

Thomas Sauer earned a Diplom in Chemie from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz during the years 1981 to 1986. Thomas then pursued a Ph.D. in Polymerchemie / Physikaliche Chemie at the Max Planck Institut für Polymerforschung, Mainz, from 1987 to 1989 and was awarded the degree of Dr. rer.nat.
