Urs Welz-Biermann

Urs Welz-Biermann is an accomplished professional in the field of chemistry and product development, currently serving as the Head of Product Development, Interface & Performance at Evonik since January 2024. Prior experience includes roles such as Director of Innovation Management Americas for High Performance Polymers at Evonik Corporation and Director of Innovation Management Asia at Evonik Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. Additionally, Urs founded and presided over delph-IL, an ionic liquid database, and played key leadership roles in various organizations related to ionic liquids. Academic qualifications include a PostDoc in Fluorine Chemistry from the University of Southern California and a Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Göttingen.
