Andrei Gavriloaie

Andrei Gavriloaie is a Lead Developer at Ubiquiti Inc, where they have worked on developing the company's managed WiFi and video surveillance systems for the past nine years. In this role, Andrei has been responsible for inventing and patenting new proprietary protocols, acquiring critical IP for the streaming division, and leading the development of two product categories that have generated more than $100 million in sales. Andrei has also coordinated with colleagues at the VP level to ensure timely product releases.

In addition to their work at Ubiquiti, Andrei has also implemented a high-performance WebRTC library from scratch, which was necessary to ensure robust P2P communication. Andrei has also implemented low latency live streaming using custom protocols, and has interfaced with existing systems via standard protocols and formats like RTSP, RTMP, HLS, and HDS. Andrei's most recent accomplishment was implementing the necessary core functionality for the Timelapse feature, which required complex analysis and on-demand transcoding.

Andrei Gavriloaie completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electronics and telecommunications from Universitatea „Politehnica” din București.
