Jean-Francois Bonfanti

Jean-Francois Bonfanti is an accomplished chemist with extensive experience in medicinal chemistry and drug development. Currently serving as Vice-President and Degrader Chemistry Lead at Evotec since June 2023, Bonfanti previously held the position of Associate Director and Project Leader at Galapagos from September 2020 to June 2023. Prior to that, a significant tenure at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson spanned from October 2003 to September 2020, during which Bonfanti advanced through roles including Senior Principal Scientist and Medicinal Chemistry Team Leader. Earlier career experiences include a position as Medicinal Chemistry Team Leader at Janssen and a post-doctoral fellowship at Imperial College London. Bonfanti earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Aix-Marseille University and a DEUG in Organic Chemistry from Université de Corse Pascal Paoli.
