Lavanya Muthukrishnan

Project Lead: Cardiovascular Diseases at Evotec

Lavanya Muthukrishnan has extensive work experience in the field of computational biology and bioinformatics. Lavanya is currently working at Evotec as a Project Lead for Cardiovascular diseases, where they lead a team of bioinformaticians and biologists and handles budget planning and resource optimization. Prior to this, they worked as a Scientific Lead at Evotec, where they tested computational tools for analyzing scRNAseq and spatial omics data and led a task force of scientists and analysts working in sc omics. Lavanya also worked as a Research Scientist at Evotec, where they provided support for experimental design planning and analyzed and interpreted scRNAseq and spatial omics datasets. Lavanya has also held postdoctoral research positions at Max Delbrück Center and Genome Institute of Singapore. Lavanya completed their Ph.D. at Universitätsmedizin Göttingen and conducted their Master and Bachelor's theses at the same institution and at IGBMC and IISER Mohali, respectively.

Lavanya Muthukrishnan completed their education as follows:

- From 2015 to 2018, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Medicine at The University of Göttingen.

- Prior to that, from 2013 to 2015, they obtained a Master's Degree (Erasmus Mundus India4EUII Fellow) in Molecular Medicine, also at The University of Göttingen.

- Their undergraduate studies were conducted from 2009 to 2013 at SRM University, where they earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Genetic Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Lavanya Muthukrishnan has also obtained certifications in "Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials" from Coursera in an unspecified year, and in "Drug Discovery" from Coursera in 2020.
