Paul McEwan has a diverse work experience starting from 2004. Paul worked as a Post-doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester from October 2004 to September 2005. Paul then joined the University of Leicester as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in April 2007, before moving to the University of Nottingham as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in September 2005. At the University of Nottingham, they also had a post-doctoral secondment at Monash University in Australia from January 2010 to April 2010. Paul returned to the University of Nottingham and worked as a Senior Post-doctoral Research Fellow from August 2007 to December 2010.
In 2010, they joined the Diamond Light Source as a CCP4/Diamond winter crystallography school tutor until February 2019. Paul also joined Evotec in February 2011 as a Senior Scientist, specializing in the application of state-of-the-art technologies to pharmaceutical research. Paul took on increasing responsibilities at Evotec, including the role of Senior Scientist 1 from October 2013 to September 2014, and later as Principal Scientist & Operational Leader from October 2014 to February 2019.
Currently, Paul McEwan is a Phyre2 Scientific Advisory Board Member at Imperial College London since April 2021.
Paul McEwan earned their Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry from Durham University, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. Paul then pursued their Ph.D in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Manchester from 2000 to 2003.
