Charles Rubin has extensive experience in geosciences and education. Currently, Rubin serves as a consultant at NW Avalanche and Geotechnical Consulting since January 2004, while also working as an avalanche educator for BC Adventure Guides, where Rubin leads AIARE Level 1 & 2 courses. Additionally, Rubin is involved in ski sales and bootfitting at Evo since September 2018. From January 2011 to December 2017, Rubin was the founding chair of the earth and environmental systems science program at the Asian School of the Environment, Nanyang Technological University, and also served as the founding division head of the first Earth Science program in Singapore. Rubin's academic career includes a long tenure as a professor at Central Washington University from January 1992 to 2011 and earlier experience as a project geologist at Arco from September 1980 to June 1985. Rubin earned a PhD in Geosciences from Caltech between 1985 and 1990.
